Advocating for Queensland’s Multicultural Small Business Community

Arzuh meeting with Queensland Small Business Commissioner Dominique Lamb

Beyond its international trade and advisory focus, Arzuh’s work also extends to Queensland’s multicultural small business community.

I was honoured to meet with the Queensland Small Business Commissioner, Ms Dominique Lamb, to discuss the challenges faced by multicultural small business owners operating across the state, and to explore practical ideas for addressing them. To use an Indian analogy, a few good “masala skewers” are in the “tandoor” and hopefully, the kebabs (solutions) will turn out productive in the long run for the small business community!

On a serious note, multicultural entrepreneurs often navigate barriers that go beyond the usual small business challenges. These include language, access to networks, and unfamiliarity with local regulatory or funding pathways. Discussions about this are a step toward more inclusive pathways for small business owners across Queensland, and Arzuh continues to look for ways to support that community.
