Historic Moment in Queensland and India Trade and Bilateral Relations

I was privileged to witness a key moment in Queensland and India trade and bilateral relations, with the External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S Jaishankar officially inaugurating the Consulate General of India to Queensland in Brisbane in the presence of Dr Jeannette Young Governor of Queensland, Fiona Simpson MP Queensland Minister for Multiculturalism, and other government and business leaders in our Queensland community.

The exponentially growing trade between Queensland and India will drive strengthening defence and security partnerships in the maritime and cybersecurity domains, and the seven spokes of IPOI in the key areas of critical minerals and technologies, datacentres, education, geospatial and space.

Go for the cricket, stay for the business, writes the Australian High Commissioner to India

I was interested to read Philip Green OAM’s article in the Indian Express this month about the rivalry–and friendship–between Australian and India, especially with this year’s upcoming summer of cricket.

Of course, it’s not all about fun and games. There’s the serious side of business and connections that our common passion for sport provides, as Philip expresses so eloquently.

Future Pathways for the Small Business Community across Queensland

I was honoured to meet again with Queensland Small Business Commissioner Ms. Dominique Lamb and get further enlightened with her discerning insights into the future pathways for the small business community across QLD.

We discussed the challenges faced by multicultural small business owners operating in QLD and explored a few creative ideas to smooth the pathway ahead. To use an Indian analogy, a few good “masala skewers” are in the “tandoor” and hopefully, the kebabs (solutions) will turn out productive in the long run for the small business community!

I’m excited about the future role for Arzuh International with Dominique at the helm of QSBC not only for QLD based entities, but the potential to grow and scale up into other countries! Watch this space for some great innovative initiatives in the near future.
